Venture MC Rules

This guideline is to provide players with the appropriate information for playing. A player's punishment will be based

 on any evidence that is found and the final say is determined by the admin or owner. 

Mods will avoid making assumptions and will only act on evidence. 

Be Respectful to Staff:

Be respectful to our staff, even if you dislike a member of our team we ask that you at least remain civil and respectful.

Do not dm staff on discord about ban appeals or questions unless they give you permission to do so. If you wish to appeal a ban or have questions about your ban you can open a ticket, if you dm a staff member about your ban the ban will be extended. For any questions you can ask in general chat on discord or global chat in game.

Use Common Sense:

Anything that harms the community, players, server economy, or server as a whole and is not meant to be a normal feature of Minecraft or Venture MC is subject to punishment, even if it is not laid out specifically in the rules. As such staff are able to punish you for things that might not technically be a rule, although they won't punish you and will only warn you unless it's something that should obviously be against the rules but isn't. Even if you did not mean to break a rule or do a loophole you are still subject to punishment, ignorance is not an excuse.

No Cheating, Hacking, or Exploiting Bugs:

Any player who finds a way around the system to gain an advantage is considered a cheater. 

Players can not use a modified client or a program that gives them an unfair advantage unless it contains only approved modifications. 

All modifications/programs besides the following are prohibited:

• Minimaps / Waypoints
• Lighting modifications (Shaders, brightness)
• Optifine (Any FPS boosting mod)
• Shulker Peek
• Crafting Recipe Mods
• Schematica / Litematica (No AutoBuild)
• REI/NEI/JEI (A menu that shows you how to craft an item)
• Itemscroller (Note: Anticheat might still kick you for using this mod, just reconnect and ignore it.)
• Appleskin

Any player who knowingly exploits a bug is an exploiter.

Example: Item duplication or abusing an error caused by staff.

If you discover a bug, make a ticket and report it.

Hiding the bug, abusing it, or telling other players will raise your ban length.

Chunk loaders are not permitted. This counts as cheating.

Macros are not allowed, unless it is a simple auto clicker.

Any machine or farm that causes lag on the server is also against the rules. Be sure not to build your farms too big, because if they cause lag on the server you will have to remove it and if you don't an admin will remove it for you.

Bypassing Ban / Mute / Filter

Players may not bypass a ban or mute by any method, including using accounts other than the banned account.

Players may not intentionally try to get around the chat filter.

If you’re caught bypassing any punishment with an alt or any other method the duration will be extended.

No Disrespect / Harassment / Trolling / Toxicity / Racism / Questionable Terms

Be polite and respectful to others regardless of the situation.

Report a player or /ignore them if you feel that you have engaged in a toxic conversation with them.

Repeated violations of toxicity that negatively affect the community will result in punishment.

Bothering a player repeatedly is considered harassment.

If a player asks you to leave their land, leave the area entirely.

If a player asks you to stop messaging, then stop.

If the public chat becomes too heated over a topic, then a staff member reserves the right to break it up and mute players. Refusal to follow staff instructions in a situation like this will result in punishment.

Treating someone poorly based on race falls under the racism rule, and all players will be punished accordingly. Racism is defined as prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's race is superior.

Any variation of socially questionable terms will not be tolerated.

• This includes any variation of the N-word, regardless of context.
• This includes any other racist, sexist, or homophobic terms.
• This includes terms in English as well as other languages.

Impersonating staff members and/or server bots is not allowed.

Absolutely no political discussions are allowed in public server chat. Any discussion of political views or beliefs must occur in DM’s.

Do not discuss sensitive issues (abortion, religion,  etc) in public chat. Please keep it in messages or DM’s.

No using inappropriate language that could be deemed as "Rated R" talk, there are younger people on this server so please be appropriate so that they don't get uncomfortable.

As stated in the Minecraft EULA promoting or glorifying drug use is not allowed. As such do not rename any items, mobs or pets after drugs or take any actions that might go against the Minecraft EULA.

When participating in an event you may be subject to punishment if you do something that goes against the spirit of the event even if what you're doing is not against the rules. Just be respectful and try not to ruin the event for others so that you can win and you will be fine.

No doxing players, discord members or the server. If somebody has a history of doxing on other servers please notify staff so we can prepare for any potential threats.

No Spamming / Advertising

 Spamming includes but is not limited to:

• Excessive Caps/Characters/Chat Messages/Links.
• Excessive use of advertisements.
• Excessive use of non-ASCII characters.  (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻
• Excessive use of colored text.

You can post links/advertise only if a staff member says it is okay.

Staff will use their best judgment to determine what is considered spam.

Do not advertise other servers or discords that are not owned by Venture.

Do not abuse the soundboard, some examples of abusing the soundboard are playing sounds that depict inappropriate topics or incredibly loud noises that hurt people's ears.  

No Excessive Derogatory Swearing

Players can swear to express themselves, not to insult/attack others.

While general swearing is fine things like hate speech, sexual comments, swearing at other, encouraging self-harm, etc. are not permitted.  

Allowed: “Fuck I died from a creeper.”

Not Allowed: “Fuck you.”

Staff members will determine when swearing becomes excessive.

No Discussing Punishments

Staff will speak with you about your punishment in a private ticket on the server’s discord. Do not discuss this anywhere else and especially do not talk about other user’s punishments. 

No Scamming

Scamming is falsely promising one thing and then doing another. The following are examples of scamming:

• Modifying items to appear as if they are still in their original state when they are not.
• Renaming items in your shop and pretending it is something else (ex: naming tripwire hook “Crate Key” and selling it)
• Putting an enchanted item through a grindstone and then selling it as if it was the original item.
• Tricking players to gain profit.

We are not responsible and do not condone any transactions between players that involve real-life money.

No PVP’ing Unless Agreed Upon

Do not PVP unless both parties agree.

When someone bothers you, this does not give you the right to kill them.

PvP is disabled by default, but that doesn’t mean that you can PvP anyone that has it enabled. 

Let an admin know what’s going on instead.

No Teleport Trapping / PvP Bypass

Portal trapping is prohibited. All Nether portals must not be blocked off with doors or blocks.

Attempting to kill a player through any means that has PvP disabled, is not allowed whatsoever. 

Making any sort of trap that would lead to a player's death, is against the rules, and will be considered a malicious act.

No Death Threats / Malicious Threats / Encouraging Suicide

Malicious threats include DDOS attacks / Leaking another person’s information.

Threatening to kill a person in real life is considered a death threat.

Telling players to commit suicide, encouraging them, or jokingly saying “kys” is not allowed.

Griefing / Stealing

Do not destroy anything that is not yours.

Do not steal from chests that are not yours.

Defacing or destroying the natural appearance of land within 250 blocks of a land claim is prohibited.

Use common sense. If the builder/land owner doesn’t want something to be there, it is most likely considered griefing.

The land owner is always responsible to claim their land, but if for some reason it’s not claimed, but very obviously a “claimed land”, we will help restore and roll back any grief that happens or items stolen.

Do not teleport mobs to spawn and leave them there.

Do not scatter items around spawn.

Do Not Abuse Land Power

This rule applies to all members of a land.

This includes but is not limited to the following:

• Kicking active players out without letting them retrieve their items.
• Kicking active players out after they store their items to steal them.
• Stealing items from other players' chunks.
• Griefing the land claims or surrounding territory.

 
Alternative Accounts

If you are banned one 1 account you cannot log onto another account to avoid the ban, if you do your banned account's punishment will be extended and applied onto the alt account.

No Inappropriate Skin/Username/Inappropriate Builds

We have no tolerance for anything that could be offensive to other players. A breakdown of examples is displayed below, but this is up to the discretion of staff.

• Skins: Nudity, Racism, Nazi Skins, or any other representations of violence.

• Usernames: Swear words, NSFW terms, or anything with racist intent.

• Builds: Swastikas, phallic structures, anything politically sensitive, or swear words.

This can include things beyond the examples provided, it is up to the community and staff to recognize and resolve any sort of inappropriate nature being displayed within Venture.

Miscellaneous Gameplay Rules

On Venture Mc we allow 4 forms of duping, string duping, carpet duping, rail duping and tnt duping. 

Although tnt duping is allowed, it is only allowed in small quantities. Things such as world eaters are banned. 7 or more tnt dupers are classified as a world eater. Things such as tunnel bores with 6 dupers are fine. Farms with 6 duping mechanisms are fine as well, but farms or tunnel bores with more than 6 are against the rules

Within our shopping district you can rent shops but you are only to rent 1 plot per person. Even with alt accounts please stick to 1 plot per person.

Appealing A Punishment:

Every player has the right to appeal their punishment if they provide sufficient evidence that they did not break any rules. Appealing can be done on our discord, do not abuse our appeal or ticket system if your appeal was denied you cannot make another appeal.
